How do I get access to the additional equipment I rented out?
If you do opt for additional equipment, you will be given a unique code to access the
equipment room that will be active for the duration of your rental. Please remember
to put everything back in the equipment room as a part of the clean up to allow for
smooth transitions between rentals.
Are security cameras installed in/around the studio?
Yes, in order to ensure the safety of everyone using the studio and in order to
optimize studio usage, there are video-only cameras set up in the studio. Footage is
locally stored and is not shared anywhere.
How do I get in and out of the studio?
Instructions on getting in and out of the studio will be emailed to renters upon booking confirmation.
Are there dressing rooms or areas for makeup and wardrobe changes?
Yes! The studio has a newly renovated washroom which will allow for wardrobe
changes. As for makeup, we have a full length mirror which may be used with our
folding table and stools for a makeup station.
What is included in the basic studio rental package (no add-ons)
- 8 unique sets with furniture that can be mix and matched
- 2 x 4’x8’ White/Black Flats (to bounce/absorb the natural light in the studio)
- Heavy Duty Clothing Rack
- Clothing Steamer
- An assortment of clips
- Extension cord
- Utility cart (to keep your things organized during your shoot)
- Step stool
- Mini fridge with some beverages
- Coffee machine
Can I bring in my own equipment/furniture or do I have to use what is provided/available?
You may bring in any equipment/furniture you need for your shoot! We only ask you be careful when moving things in and out to avoid damage to the space itself. It is also worth mentioning that the main studio stairwell is 3 feet wide which can be somewhat small for certain items. If you have any specific questions about bringing things in, feel free to email us with a picture and rough dimensions of what you are wanting to bring in.
Is there a minimum or maximum rental duration?
The studio has a minimum rental period of 2 hours to allow ample time for set up and clean up. The maximum time you can rent the space out for is 12 hours. If you need the studio for more than that, please email us with details and we will be happy to work something out together.
What are the studio’s operating hours?
For studio rentals and photography packages in-studio, we are open every day from 9 AM – 9 PM. If you are renting the studio for an event and require a later end time, please email us and we can discuss details. For our photography packages outside the studio, please email us with details and we can discuss further.
Is there any restriction on the type of photography allowed in the studio?
At our studio, we welcome a wide range of creative photography projects and artistic expressions. However, we maintain a strict policy that prohibits any explicit or adult content, including but not limited to pornography or any other content deemed inappropriate or offensive. We strive to provide a professional and respectful environment for all our clients and adhere to industry standards. If you have any specific questions regarding the type of photography permitted, please feel free to reach out, and we’ll be happy to assist you further.
Is there a sound system available during the rental?
Yes! There is a Bluetooth speaker included in the studio rental.
What is the cancellation policy?
Notice of at least 72 hours must be given for a refund for studio rentals.
Are there any additional charges for props or backdrops?
There are several built-in sets in the studio which are included in the rental and the furniture may be moved around from one set to another. Additional props/backdrops may be rented during the booking press.
Is there parking available for clients, and is it free or paid?
Parking is both available and free! Angle parking is available along the south wall of the building. Feel free to use the map for reference.
Can I bring in Food to the studio?
Yes, feel free to bring food. We only ask you refrain from eating on any cloth furniture which may stain.
Are cleaning supplies available?
Yes! Cleaning supplies are located by the fridge on the peg board and also under the sink in the washroom.
How much natural light is in the studio?
Plenty! We have very large windows both on the east and south of the building which provide sunlight in the studio for as long as the sun is up!
Can I host a small dinner here (around 15 people)?
Yes, you can! We have a mini fridge with a freezer available for your use however we do not have a kitchen so any food will have to be brought in already cooked. We have folding tables and chairs which are included in the rental package. For more details, feel free to reach out to us.
Does the rental price depend on the number of people I bring?
No, the rental prices are based on the time spent in the studio. Although it is useful to note that the max capacity is 40 people for the studio.
Do you have tables and chairs?
The studio comes with 1 folding table to keep your belongings on for the duration of the shoot and several seating options. In the context of an event, we have access to several folding tables and chairs which may be rented out as a package deal. Please email us and we may discuss further.
How does the seamless paper work, and how do I know how much to roll out?
The seamless paper is stored in the main studio however it is not included in the basic rental. If you choose to add on the seamless paper backdrop, you will be given a code to unlock the retracting mechanism. As for how much to roll out, there will be a mark on the ground indicating where the edge of the roll should rest. Additionally, the left and right edges will be taped to the point until they should make contact with the floor. There will be masking tape available for you to hold the paper down.
Do you offer discounts for regular or bulk bookings?
Yes! Please email us with details about your requirements and we’ll be happy to provide you with information regarding our pricing options for repeated or extended bookings, tailored to meet your specific needs.
Is the studio wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, no, the only way to access the studio is by the stairwell.
Do I need to be a professional photographer to rent the studio out?
Absolutely not! Both professional photographers and photography enthusiasts may rent the studio out! The studio is a creative space meant to be used by everyone 😊
Do you offer assistance or technical support during the rental period?
Yes! If something is not working as it should or perhaps is a bit different than what you are used to, please call us over Instagram and we will help you sort out any issues you may be experiencing. Having said that, when renting out our professional equipment we require you to have a working knowledge of that piece of equipment in order to prevent damage to your or the equipment from misuse.
What level of cleanliness is expected of me during clean up?
After your rental period concludes, we kindly request that you assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the studio. This includes putting furniture back in its original place, cleaning up any spills or messes, and returning the studio to the condition it was in when you arrived. Additionally, please ensure that any rented equipment is properly packed and returned to its designated location in the equipment room. Your cooperation in tidying up the space is greatly appreciated and helps us ensure a pleasant environment for all our clients.
